Exclusive Interview with Devin Henry aka The Marketing Wizard

Today we’d like to introduce you to Devin Henry.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

Thank you for having me. Well ever since I was a little kid I’ve been playing sports, so discipline has been instilled in me since I was young. Even while playing sports I always knew that entrepreneurship was something that I wanted to pursue. Since I was a kid I always knew I wanted to be the one calling the shots. Every chance I had to earn money on my own I would do, even if that meant shoveling driveways in freezing temperatures all day. When I was 19 I started my first business called The Sneaker Sanctuary. But like most business owners, I didn’t have any customers and I needed to learn how to acquire them. Long story short I ended paying thousands of dollars for courses to teach me how to advertise effectively online. This was the best money I ever spent. After countless hours of perfecting my craft, I thought of a great idea. If I can bring customers to my business why don’t I do the same thing for other businesses? That’s how I started my digital marketing agency Next Level Marketing.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

The biggest challenge I would say is the lack of information. You don’t know what you don’t know. And what you don’t know will put you out of business. You end up making a lot of mistakes simply because you’re not aware that you’re making a mistake. It’s truly a learning process and you learn as you go along. I didn’t even know this was possible 3 years ago. Now I’m running my own digital marketing agency.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

I specialize in creating custom marketing strategies for business owners and entrepreneurs. I should be chosen over the competition because of my attention to detail and my addiction to creating client success stories. The overall success of the client is the most important thing of all. Some of my clients even went as far as nicknaming me “The Marketing Wizard” for the work I do for them.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

This will probably sound cliche, but oh well. Never give up on something that you’re passionate about. If it didn’t work this time then try again. Figure out a different route. Do whatever you have to do to keep moving forward. But make sure you’re moving forward.

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

I feel like if you’re in a position to take care of those you love then you’re successful. I don’t think success is necessarily just big houses and fancy cars. If you can put others around you in a position to be successful then I think you’re successful.

What’s next for you?

Well, right now I’m focused on my main goal which is impacting 100,000 black-owned businesses with my marketing strategies.
